Christopher Ludwig is a Vancouver based composer, poet, educator and flute player. He holds Bachelor degrees in Music and in Education, as well as a Masters degree in Composition from the University of British Columbia. Ludwig is a passionate and prolific composer of Art Song.  To date, he has completed over 50 songs and 3 major song cycles.  A recording of his song cycles entitled “Outward Voyage” was released in 2009 and features the writings of Vancouver Island poet Ken  Cathers.  Currently, Ludwig is in the process of producing an extensive three-hour recording of his Art Song settings of the poetry of William Carlos Williams. Mr. Ludwig is an Associate Composer of the Canadian Music Centre.

Christina Chen has degrees in immunopathology and education from the University of British Columbia. Her love of music and performance has evolved into a passion for creating things that intersect the spheres of both the arts and sciences.  In addition to writing music, libretti, and experimental poetry, she has also co-devised, directed, and performed collaborative stage projects in a unique course that combines the creative processes of Music, Creative Writing, and Theatre. Currently, she is exploring improvisatory performance, and the electroacoustic manipulation of text, voice, and amplified instrument signals. Christina wrote the book for a one-act theatre piece, for the 2009 launch of VISI’s Theatre of Art Song. She performs in the new music vocal octet, NOVICA,  and was a violinist and member of the chorus for Radix Theatre Company, in their 2011 original production, “BEUTFL PRBLMS.”  She is based in her hometown, Vancouver BC.
