Emilie Cecilia LeBel is a Canadian composer, intermedia artist, and arts-educator. Her compositions have been performed across Canada, and internationally. She is completing doctoral studies in composition at The University of Toronto, where she is studying with Gary Kulesha, and completing research under the guidance of Robin
Elliott. She has participated in a variety of workshops and residencies such as Arraymusic Young Composers’ Workshop, Quatuor Bozzini Composers’ Kitchen, and most recently at The Banff Centre. Recent awards include the Canadian Music Centre’s Toronto Emerging Composer Award, the CFUW Elizabeth Massey Award, and a Canada Council for the Arts Commission Grant.
Jordan Abel is a First Nations writer whose work has been published in Prairie Fire, Dandelion, and the Capilano Review. He is the marketing assistant at Arsenal Pulp Press and a contributing editor for Geist. His first book, The Place of Scraps, will be published in Fall 2013 by Talonbooks. He lives in Vancouver.
